Can I reveal information about a sex-offender coach to family who have children signed up for soccer?

I am currently employed at a soccer club. Today we found out (after running background checks 3 months late) that one of our coaches is a registered sex offender - for sexual assault against a child.When employed I signed a contract stating that I wouldn't share information about the organization. I am turning in my resignation tomorrow, however, I do not want my family registering their children with this negligent organization. Can I legally tell them about this situation, since a registered sex offender is public knowledge? Or would I be in breach of my contract?

You should contact the police in your area, if the person is a registered sex Offender then they are not allowed to work in a facility where children are present or may be present, you should also notify the employer that you are going to notify the families and the authorities if they do not, but if the person is only accused and never convicted you may be crossing a line that could cause you problems, sometimes people are accused of things by a disgruntled spouse or friend that is not true so be certain that you have sufficient evidence to base your accusations on.~
